HOPE GIFT CARDS 

The HOPE Gift Card Ministry provides an additional source of funding for St. James Catholic Parish to use in support of its education programs and to meet other needs as defined by the pastor.

The parish purchases gift cards (called SCRIP by many parishes that sell them) at a discount and sells them at face value. Most of the cards are national cards and can be used anywhere in the United States. Some cards are provided by local merchants and are honored at their stores in the area.

The profit realized by the parish comes from the businesses that provide the cards. Parishioners and friends of St. James pay face value for the cards they buy and get to spend the full face value for items they would otherwise buy with cash, check or credit cards.   

2019 HOPE Gift Card Challenge – “Ya Gotta Eat!”

Thanks to our many parishioners who participated, last year’s “Ya Gotta Eat” campaign was so successful that we are starting a new campaign for 2018. Join your fellow parishioners and make a New Year’s Resolution to accept this year’s HOPE Gift Card Challenge.

Here’s how it works: Use at least 25% of your weekly food budget to purchase HOPE Gift Cards for your groceries and away from home meals. Since everyone has to eat, whether at home or away from home, accepting this challenge is easy at “no additional cost” to you.

Gift cards are sold in the parish and school offices during normal business hours and in the church narthex or social hall after weekend Masses. Many of the most popular cards are kept in stock and may be purchased at these locations. These and dozens of other cards are available and can be ordered by submitting an order form. These order forms are available at all sales locations. You can also print the form below, fill it out and drop it off at the Parish Office.
