ST. JAMES PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
Monday, August 11, 2025
The Pastoral Council May meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by Chairperson Eddie Baker. Council Members present were Fr Lac, Kevin Casel, Dee Rosekrans, Joan Peluso, Jeff Ridder, Chris Fullinwider, Cindy Lamas, Scott Kollasch and Corrine Sebranek. Eddie Baker started the meeting with a prayer.

Old Business:
Pastoral Council By-Laws – Chairperson Baker asked all to review the Council By-Laws for any changes that might need to be made for the upcoming year. These will be discussed at the next meeting.
Confirmation – With the Sacrament of Confirmation to be held at the Cathedral this year, it was discussed how the Post Confirmation Celebration will be done this year. Chairperson Eddie Baker will contact our Confirmation Leader on details for our celebration for them.
New Business:
Blended Mass – In the past, a Blended Mass (Spanish/English) was discussed to be offered at St James. Chairperson Eddie Baker will consult with Deacon Juan Rodriguez for scheduling a mass. This would not be a regular offering, but a specially scheduled mass.
Online Adoration Sign Up – Suggestions were made to the Council to offer the Adoration Schedule sign-up online. The Council will research what other parishes offer to explore something better than our current method.
St James School Liaison – Kevin Casel proposed that the Council select a member to consult with and update monthly activities at our school. This would provide the Council opportunities to form a relationship with the staff and students.
Suicide Prevention – Parishioner Anne Puck (Southwest Commander of the Fr. Vincent Capodanno Memorial Post 1974 of the Catholic War Veterans of the United States) reached out to the Council to promote a Suicide Prevention Class for Veterans. The Council discussed and decided to reach out to the Diocese to clarify what action to move forward with at St James.
Closing:
Father Lac informed the Council that a Liturgy Committee has been formed at St James. The members are Father Lak, Director of Liturgy and Music Sam Fleming, and Deacons Chuck Koesterer and Juan Rodriquez. This Committee will focus the planning, implementing and overseeing the liturgical life of our Parish.

The Council’s next meeting is Monday, September 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the AV Conference Room. If you have any ideas or concerns for the Council, please contact Fr. Lac or Chairperson Eddie Baker.
