ST. JAMES PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

Monday, October 12th, 2025

 

 

The Pastoral Council October meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by Chairperson Eddie Baker. Council Members present were Fr Lac, Kevin Casel, Dee Rosekrans, Joan Peluso, Cindy Lamas, Scott Kollasch, Corrine Sebranek and Deacon Chuck Koesterer. Joan Peluso started the meeting with a prayer

 

Guest Speaker: Walt Holt, St James Finance Committee

 

Walt shared that the Committee oversees many items at the Parish/School, such as reviewing our financial statements, budgets, and serving as an advisor to Father Lac. They also lead or form Committee’s for any large projects, such as our new church. They are in the process of developing the plan for the conversion of our former church and Social Hall into an Event Space. This space will be Parish focused, and there will be town halls planned over the winter to present the proposed space design. He also shared that the parish is 98% funded by tithing and they are exploring the option of online giving platforms from bank accounts. The Council will also appoint one member to be placed on the School Advisory Board and Finance Committee.

 

 

 

 

Old Business:

 

Completion of new Playground for School – the weather has been cooperating, and should be completed the first part of November

 

School Auction- There has been over 400 tickets sold, 50/50 raffle sales are strong and a link to bid on auction items will be printed in the bulletin.

 

 

Online Adoration Sign Up – Checking on adding to current church sign-up MSP Software and looking at other sign-up options.

 

Suicide Prevention Class – Has been moved to the Spring of 2026

 

New Business:

 

Additional fonts in Sanctuary – After discussion, it was decided they were not needed, as we have a large one that already exists.

 

Father Lac closed the meeting with a prayer

 

 

 

The Council’s next meeting is Monday, November 10th

at 7:00 p.m. in the AV Conference Room. If you have any ideas or concerns for the Council, please contact Fr. Lac or Chairperson Eddie Baker. If you would like to attend the meeting, please contact Eddie Baker no later than Thursday, October 9th.
