Obituary
Martina Isabelle Nellesen Brett Speichinger, 93, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016, in Platte City, Missouri.

Isabelle was born in Mendon, Missouri, on January 30, 1923, the daughter of Rudolph and Magdelena (Reigelsberger) Nellesen.

She attended St. Boniface School in Brunswick, Missouri, Loretta Academy in Kansas City, Missouri, and in 1942, she graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in Salisbury, Missouri.

On May 10, 1951, she married James T. Brett, Sr., in Brunswick, Missouri. James passed away October 10, 1953. On December 28, 1974, she married Robert Speichinger in Easton, Missouri. Robert passed away May 12, 1999.

Isabelle worked as a payroll billing clerk at W.J. Small Alfalfa Plant for eight years, and then at W.E. Wooldridge Accounting firm for 45 years. She was treasurer of the Brunswick Community Betterment Committee, and served on the Board of Directors for the Brunswick Housing Authority. Isabelle was active as a 4-H Leader, in the VFW Auxiliary, Rucker-McAllister American Legion Auxiliary, and in Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority.

A member of the Catholic faith, Isabelle served as the bookkeeper of St. Boniface/St. Raphael churches, taught CCD classes at St. Boniface for 20 years, served as an organist, and belonged to St. Mary’s Altar Society and the Women’s Group of Twelve Apostles.

She is survived by four children, Mary (Dan) Calvert of Platte City, Missouri, Arlene (Vincent) White of Liberty, Missouri, James (Jan) Brett of Tempe, Arizona, Janet (Paul) Regan of Platte City, Missouri; three step-children, Rose Marie Robinson of Urbana, Missouri, Edward Speichinger of Brunswick, Missouri, and Rita (Jim) Ostermann of Brunswick, Missouri; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and 12 step-grandchildren.

Funeral service is Saturday, April 9, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Brunswick, Missouri. Father Steven Rogers is officiating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday, April 9, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Brunswick, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Twelve Apostles Building Fund.
