ST. JAMES PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
Monday, April 13th, 2026
The Pastoral Council April meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m. by Chairperson Eddie Baker. Council Members present were Fr Lac, Kevin Casel, Dee Rosekrans, Chris Fullinwider, Joan Peluso, Sherri Porterfield, Corrine Sebranek, Cindi Lamas and Scott Kollasch. Chairman Baker opened the meeting with a prayer.
Old Business
School Advisory Board Report – Scott Kollasch
· Enrollment increased for the fall semester
· Late start on Wednesday approved
· School day mass will now be on Thursday
· Late start option next year on inclement weather days
Finance Committee Report – Dee Rosekrans
· Meeting the week of 4/13 and will report next month.
Confirmation Reception –
The parish will be inviting those who have been Confirmed at the Cathedral, to attend Mass at St. James on Saturday, May 2 at 5:00 p.m. and attend a reception afterwards.
New Council Members –
The Membership Drive secured seven parishioners who showed interest in serving on the Council. Father Timothy is leading the Discernment Process and will have the new three Council members chosen in May.
St James Feast Day Activities –
Suggestions made to reach out to individual ministries for food to celebrate on Saturday, July 25th. Some ministries contacted are interested and details will be forthcoming.
Blessing of the Home Kits –
Kevin Casel suggested beginning a new tradition of Blessing of the Home on The Epiphany weekend in 2027. The ceremony would be printed in the bulletin on the weekend of January 10th, 2027.
New Business
2026-27 Council Leadership
· New Officers to be elected at the May meeting are Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and Secretary.
Father Lac closed the meeting with a prayer
The Council’s next meeting is Monday, May 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the AV Conference Room. If you have any ideas or concerns for the Council, please contact Fr. Lac or Chairperson Eddie Baker. If you would like to attend the meeting, please contact Eddie Baker no later than Wednesday, May 6th.
