Registration for Confirmation
Our Confirmation program is for 8th & 9th graders as well as older high school students.
Confirmation classes will take place on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month (except where noted below), beginning September 15. Class will be from 6pm-7:30pm.
Dates for Confirmation are Wednesday, February 26th, 2025 and Friday, March 21st, 2025, both at 7pm (more details will be shared at a later date). Please note the following dates below, in addition to the Sundays mentioned above:
Teen and Sponsor Session:
Sunday, October 20 6pm-7:30pm (Sponsors will need to attend this class session with teens)
Confirmation retreat:
Friday, January 17 (7pm-10pm) and Saturday, January 18 (8am-6pm), (there will not be a class on Sunday, January 19)
Service Day:
Saturday, November 30, 8am-2pm Sponsors will need to attend with the teens (No class Sunday, December 1)
Parents and sponsors will need to attend an informational meeting on Sunday, August 18. There will be 2 times to choose from: 9:15am or 6pm. The meeting will last approximately one hour.
Please begin to discern your teen’s sponsor now. A sponsor is someone that will walk with the teen through their journey towards Confirmation. The sponsor must be at least 16 years old and a Confirmed, active, participating Catholic. More information on choosing a Sponsor is posted in the Confirmation section of the St. James website. Please note, there will be sessions/experiences on the schedule in which the sponsor will need to attend with the teen.
Teens will also need to choose a Confirmation Saint. We choose a Saint at Confirmation as someone to look up to and emulate. More information on choosing a Saint will be shared at the first class, but it’s a good idea to start thinking about it now. More information on how to choose a Saint is posted in the Confirmation section of the St. James website.
This year’s Confirmation fee is $75. Cost includes a retreat fee. Financial arrangements are available if needed.
Please reach out to discuss options. Finances will not prevent any student from preparing for/receiving the Sacrament.
