Conchita Weir Obituary
Concepcion “Conchita” Ros Weir, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 29, 2018 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO.
She was born on November 18, 1926 in Manila, Philippines to Eduardo & Amelia Ros.
Conchita grew up in Manila, Philippines. She attended The College of The Holy Ghost. After WWII, she traveled to the United States where she became a naturalized citizen of the United States on May 3, 1957 in San Antonio, TX. The family moved to Kansas City, MO in 1964. Conchita was a loving, devoted mother and homemaker who volunteered in the service of her church and community. Conchita married Donald Weir, of Clay Center, KS on August 4, 1951. They were married for 30 years. Conchita was a member of Blessed Sacrament, Saint Patrick, Saint Ann and Saint James Catholic Churches. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dancing, music, volunteering at the church and school, volleyball, softball, bowling, puzzles and word games and preparing her favorite Filipino dishes.
Conchita is survived by her son, Edward Weir’s widow Madeline of Liberty, MO; daughter: Barbara (Jay) Jackson of Liberty, MO; son: Robert (Cindy) Weir of Liberty, MO, daughters: Judy Saft of Kansas City, MO, Ruth (Charles Muecke) Rizer of Kansas City, MO, Mary (Alex Summers) Weir of Candler, NC; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way and her very caring nieces and nephews that she loved as her very own.
Conchita was preceded in death by her parents: Eduardo & Amelia Ros; son: Edward; brothers and sisters: Amelia, Eduardo, Pilar, Ramon, Jose, Delores.
Visitation will be 9am Wednesday, May 2, 2018, Rosary at 10:30am at St. James Catholic Church in Liberty, MO. Catholic Funeral Mass to follow at 11am. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery, Hwy 291 & I-435 in Kansas City, MO.
