Mardi Gras Celebration
Celebrate Mardi Gras
March 4 From 5:30 – 7:30pm – St. James Social Hall
It’s the day before Ash Wednesday and our RE Ministry and the School PTO is sponsoring this great parish-wide event to celebrate before Lent begins.
The famous Chris Cakes folks will be flipping the pancakes and our Mardi Gras Jazz Band will be providing some fun entertainment as well.
Tickets for this event are $8.00 and will be sold after Masses the weekends of February 22/23 and March 1/2. Tickets will also be sold at the door.
Steubenville Fundraiser
Proceeds from this event will go towards helping our teens attend this year’s Steubenville Conference in Springfield this July where they will experience dynamic Catholic speakers, along with Mass, Adoration, and confession with 5,000 other Catholic teens from around the country.
By the way, a bit of “trivia”. The term Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday”, referring to the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season, which begins on Ash Wednesday.
