Town Hall Meeting

At the Town Hall Meetings on September 10 and 13, the Social Hall was filled with parishioners interested to know the status of our new church. The high point of the meetings was Fr. Mike’s announcement of the date for groundbreaking – April 15, 2018.

Fr. Mike opened the meetings with prayer. Following prayer, a slide show presentation illustrated the 12 most significant accomplishments that have been made on the journey to build the new church since 2011. A poster was available listing the 33 Capital Campaign accomplishments between 2011 and 2017.

A brief financial review followed where it was announced that as of August 31, we have $4,695,074 in the bank and $7,979,522 in pledges. Other financial accomplishments discussed were St. James is out of debt, we have made our monthly budget 15 months in a row, the St. Michael’s Assessment will be paid by year end, our parking lot is paid for at a cost of $1,000,000+.

Capital Campaign Fulfillment Chair Dan Bacon discussed ways in which we will “keep the momentum” of the campaign going.

Bishop Johnston’s message to St. James concerning the campaign was played. Click here to hear his message.

The meetings was concluded with a display of most recent renderings of the new church’s exterior, Narthex, and Worship space presented by our architectural team from SFS.
