Katie Klassen Update:

Work being completed in the former Sanctuary, ie…removing carpet, is explained in the Church Bulletin.

Deacon Chuck Update:

On January 19, there will be an ecumenical prayer service at Saint James starting at 7:00 pm.

On January 23, there will be a Mental Health Recruitment Night at Saint James. The purpose of the meeting is to educate and provide resources for those wishing to volunteer.

Old Business:

The former calendar has been updated and is accessible. The Ministry Survey should come out in a bulletin soon. The POC Ministry will start to recruit soon. The Pastoral Council discussed ideas to welcome parishioners back after Covid. Saint James Parish is at 70% attendance when compared to attendance before Covid. Announcements will be made at masses during the weekend of January 29, describing Discernment for the Pastoral Council.

New Business:

The Pastoral Council discussed that the Narthex in the former church is currently not available for use by the church ministries. This directly affected the Knights of Columbus food drive for In As Much Ministry who was instructed they could not use that area as it is under construction. Interest was expressed at reaching a resolution to this issue.

Father Mike Update:

Christmas masses went well. Saint James Parish is grateful to Deacon Chuck and his work in the Mental Health Ministry. On February 18-19, the Diocese will also extend their appreciation for Deacon Chuck and his work associated with developing the Mental Health Ministry.
